My mechanic said it was basically the same as the Silverstars II which I would be replacing.

He said he would use them but probably won't see much of a difference. Luckily he was wrong. ten years. Factory bulbs are very weak. These headlights are definitely brighter - and more useful - with an extra "throw" around the track. It definitely came in handy when it was raining on the freeway - it's a long, rainy "winter" in Los Angeles.
