Review on SAMSUNG Galaxy Fit Black Smartwatch (Bluetooth), SM-R370NZKAXAR – US Version with Warranty by Todd Roybal

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Holy battery life! suitable for wearable technology

EDIT: My original review is from February 22nd, but I charged the device on February 20th. It is now March 1st. I got bored with a dead battery so I started charging it at 13%. I've used it for fitness tracking, sleep tracking, reading notifications, checking the weather, and checking the time. I activate my watch about 20 times a day. I wore it all the time, even in the shower and bath. I disabled the wake gesture and set the screen brightness to 4 out of 10 since it's bright enough for anything but direct sunlight. In other words, it took 10 days and I think it would have taken 12 or 13 days if I had tried. Better battery life than Samsung claims is a real possibility! I'm not sure why the battery life isn't advertised more heavily. They should trumpet it to the whole world. No one else even tries to have that much battery life. I dimmed the screen, made sure the BPM counter wasn't showing on the front dial, and turned off gestures. As a result, I was only spending 1% a day! I spent more the next day, but I feel like I could beat Samsung's guideline and extend the battery life to 10 days instead of 5 or 6. It's rare that the battery life is HIGHER than promised by the manufacturer. I wanted a smartwatch that I could use to easily track and manually view my notifications when I felt like it, something that wouldn't bother me. And I also hate that even the Apple Watch gives you a day or two. So when I found out about the battery life, I assumed it would cost $300. Instead, Revain costs $60. Wow. Instabuy for me. Also special thanks to the stress tracker and the accuracy of the calorie tracker (at least for me) and the sleep tracker which is near perfect. There is no "set and forget", there is only "forget". Everything happens automatically, and I wonder how other companies can use non-standard watch sensors to track this kind of information. Does Samsung have patents to use this device in this way? However, this is one of the most insightful trackers I've seen and the battery life is just wow. One final note: it looks like the silver model will be mostly sold out before the end of the century. I can't find her anywhere. It seemed prettier to me and I wanted one but settled on black. I think the black turned out really nice. It gently reflects the bracelet's soft light, so it's never really black, but a darkened version of the color of your surroundings. Phone cameras don't pick it up very well, so even official and survey photos show this inky Darth Vader-style streak. It's not like that at all. It's soft and tasteful and I think fashion-forward shoppers shouldn't shy away from it. At least try black. :) I've tried many products and this is the closest I have to "just give it a 5 star rating and move on". For me there are no obvious errors. If you have poor vision and need to buy glasses, the font may be a bit small. One professional reviewer said you "scroll and scroll" to read notifications. It wasn't my experience at all. The font is exactly the same as those trackers I've seen at some restaurants and theme parks when you have to wait for a call, and fits a surprising amount of legible words for such a small screen. So at least try the font before you think it will be too small. I was warned that she would be short and I didn't think about it at all.
