Review on ☕ Bodum Stainless Steel Travel Coffee and Tea Press - 15 Ounce (.45 Liter), Black by Tyson Burch

BEST VERSATILE TRAVEL PRESS

I've been using this press for ten months now and wanted to answer some of the NONSENSE that other "reviewers" have posted. The plunger is not too short but fits perfectly on the cup. The inner cup size is 5.75 inches from fill line to bottom, and the plunger rod size is approximately 5.4375 inches. The plunger is capable of fully and thoroughly dispensing 21 grams of coarse ground coffee with any quantity greater than when the plunger rod is raised slightly above the level of the lid. If anyone claims otherwise, it should be obvious that they don't know how to brew press coffee and don't know what good coffee tastes like. These reviews should be thrown in the trash like used coffee grounds from a press. Then there are claims that the coffee stays hot for "4 to 6 hours". That's optimistic. I tested a few of these by filling them with boiling water (212 F), sealing them and measuring the temperature every hour and found that after three hours the temperature had dropped to around 130 F - about the same temperature as hot Tap water. The test was conducted in a house at 68 degrees, and the lid was closed after each temperature reading. A greater drop in temperature is to be expected outdoors. The bowl is not airtight but leak proof; If it's on its side, it's sure to spill coffee on anything you didn't mean to expose to the coffee. Keep that in mind if you thought you were just going to throw it in a backpack, purse, men's bag, etc. I've compared this head-to-head with Stanley Travel Press and GSI Commuter Press and can offer the following comparisons: Stanley keeps coffee hot for nearly five hours outdoors and is truly airtight when fully airtight. It's also bulky and won't fit in many cup holders. GSI will leak if the inner cup/press is not fully installed. I have since bought other Bodum travel presses for gifts and consider them the best all round travel press with the Stanley coming second. I wouldn't consider GSI for anything.
