Sure it cuts, but if you have small pills that need to be cut in half you're out of luck. At best, I got a 60/40 which affects the amount of prescription medication ingested. This was with both oblong tablets and round pills. I bought this to replace an old pill cutter that worked perfectly every time, but the blade had dulled over years of use. If you just need to cut large vitamins or other difficult to swallow pills/tablets that are not prescription meds this will work fine for that purpose. I've reverted to my old pill cutter until I can find one that cuts evenly.

- Cuts small pills unevenly leaving about a 10% section crushed in powder. Would not recommend.
