I need to transfer photos and videos from SD and MicroSD cards to a portable USB hard drive on my travel surface, so I need a small and compact USB C device . This size of this device is perfect and it's really light. I inserted an SD/MicroSD card into the reader and connected a USB3 hard drive to the USB port and copied the contents of the card to the hard drive using File Explorer. It worked great but was very slow. The bottleneck seems to be the built-in SD/MicroSD card reader. I only get transfer speeds of around 20MB/s (compared to 80MB/s on the same hard drive with a different card reader). The same goes for SD and micro SD cards. Unfortunately I have to send it back because it is too slow.
