Review on Sangean BTS 101 Portable Bluetooth Wireless by Latoya Luckett

Now the market is flooded with portable Bluetooth speakers, but this Sangean speaker has some unique features. It's fairly slim, making it more portable than other more compact devices. You can easily connect to the speaker via NFC, although I found Bluetooth pairing to be very easy. Of course, the downside for its slim build is that the bass is more limited. So if you want more punch than definition, look elsewhere. . That's not to say the BTS-101s don't produce punchy bass through their passive woofer, especially when placed on a table (which they recommend) and you're listening at medium to high volumes. Above all, the passive woofer amplifies the mids and gives the sound concreteness. On the downside, the speaker struggles a bit with some of the high frequencies and gives off hints of distortion. I've listened to a variety of music and some podcasts with it, and overall the sound is pleasant despite its limitations due to its size and price. This speaker also comes in bolder colors if you shop around.
