High quality materials make this ramp kit ideal for those looking for a cost effective alternative to steel or aluminum ramps. All you need to add is some 2" x 8" boards. I bought a ten foot one and cut it in half. You may prefer a different length for your project, but this resulted in my deck not scratching the door sill. As they are kept indoors when not in use I did not purchase pressure treated wood. I stay away from that whenever possible - too many nasty chemicals, especially if you get a shard when building the ramp or later when using it. Drill four holes in the boards, mount the sturdy aluminum plates with the included accessories, and you're good to go.
