Much better than the previous Swaller batery case for my iPhone 7 Plus

History:My previous Swaller battery case for my iPhone 7 Plus (the top piece that clipped on https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07LGSQQCJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1) had multiple problems. I bought 3 of them over the life of my iPhone 7 Plus all which had varying degrees of life before they completely died. First the top clip of the case would break if the phone was removed from the case more than a handful of times. This was tolerable because the light magnet in the clip would hold it to the phone for most practical use though it sometime came off as I took it in and out of my pocket. Then, the Lightening connector (not Apple certified I am sure and not just because it was so unreliable or made in China but because the royalties to be Apple certified are more expensive than the whole case) would get flaky and would only work if the highest quality cable was used (meaning the Apple cable the phone came with or an Anker cable) and was propped up with a small object that provided a bit of tension on the connector so that a proper electrical connections were made. This was also obnoxious but tolerable. A few months after this (1-6 months or so) the case would no longer accept a charge at all and after the case ran empty it would no longer charge the phone. I am pretty sure this was a problem with the charging circuit in the phone since the lights would come on like it was trying to charge the phone when plugged in (after being propped up) but then the lights would continually cycle counting up and then blinking off for as long as it was left plugged in and never deliver any charge to the phone. At this point the case had to be replaced.Value of the older version:If you owned one of these cases I bet you experienced at least one of these problems if not all of them if you were patient enough to get to the 3rd issue since it happened on all 3 of the cases I owned and I recognize several of these issues in the other comments I have read about the case. But, since the case was only $30 I thought the life was worth it since the case is pretty good at protecting the phone and to purchase a more electronically reliable battery case like a Mophie is about $100 and uses a micro USB connector and I can't stand having to keep track of 2 different cords to manage the phone (Mophie uses a micro USB to charge the case & phone together and a Lightening connector for data transfers when connecting the phone to my laptop). In the end at $30 I still came out a few buck cheaper than buying the Mophie case though it was more of a hassle replacing the case every 6-12 months. However, the good Swaller customer service and the quick Walmart shipping made this feasible.Review of new case:The new generation of this case does not have the top piece that clips off, rather the thick flexible rubber/polymer of the case bends off it allowing the phone to slip in and out. This a much better system. It is far more reliable and provides much better protection for the phone if dropped. I also find that the Lightening connector on this phone feels more solid and has not yet demonstrated the initial glitchiness of the previous model that proceeded the need to prop up the connector when charging. However, I have only used the case for a little less than 30 days so it is a bit early for that problem to manifest yet. I will update this review if it does but at this point is it looks entirely possible they have improved the connector and it will last longer (though i am being extremely careful with it). So, given the performance of this new product I am comfortable giving it 5 stars for now. I will amend that if that changes.Full Disclosure:I never write these reviews but Swaller convinced me to do it this time by giving me a $10 gift card if I gave them a 5 Star review and another $5 gift card if I included a picture. This is why I wrote the review but I don't think this is the review they were looking for. Now I understand where most of the 5 Star Walmart reviews come from. Everything I have written in this review is true and so far I am willing to give this new case 5 stars until it exhibits any of the problems I described above and then I will change this review immediately. The previous versions of this case I have used I would only give 2 Stars to and then only in comparison to the Mophie case because they refuse to use a Lightening connector (because of the Apple royalty expense associated with it). I would have been willing to pay Mophie another $10-20 more for that connector since I hate micro USB connectors so much. The USB C connector is much better, lets hope and pray the world switches to this connector.
