My wife and I began replacing the old, traditional switches and plugs in our home to upgrade with the Adorne line of products. We appreciated the variety of colors and thought this would be an easy way to upgrade our home. Now that we've taken over a few rooms, I find the purchase mixed. First, the manufacturer doesn't support Adorne in the way it did when it was deployed. Colors and options are limited and never sold in hardware stores. Online is your only option. Second, such Adorne panels really limit access to the electrical box once it is installed. You wrestle wires through a narrow opening where the switch or plug snaps into place. This isn't a problem with the simplest of wiring, but any time you access a box in an old house, you never know what combination of connectors, poles, sockets, and upgrades you're going to find. The plate design complicates the work. Once installed they look fresh and with the occasional help of a professional electrician we have been successful.
