The Life camera I bought a few years ago worked well but eventually broke. I bought a replacement and found that it no longer works with Windows 10. Apparently one of the latest Windows 10 updates is not compatible with Lifecams. It just won't install. Windows does not recognize the device at all. There is a lot of talk about this on the Microsoft support forum, but no one has a solution. The only good news is that I found a small Ausdom manual focus webcam that works just as well as the Lifecam and is half the price. Keep it up Microsoft. Your own Lifecam product is not compatible with your operating system. You must be wondering how these people at Microsoft feel about themselves. There is no effort whatsoever to compensate customers whose cameras have stopped working and there is no solution in sight. These support guys are so incredibly helpless all the time that I'm sure most of them are in therapy or very drunk or something. **EDIT** Add Microsoft updates for Windows 10 later and Lifecam is now installed and working again. However, Ausdom's $25 manual focus webcam still outperforms it in every way. The Lifecam automatically "focuses" to a semi-blurry state each day, and its focus must be manually reset and "Auto" disabled in its software's camera control screen. Yes, every day. pain in the buttocks. So a cheap webcam at 1/4 the price is still your best bet. Best picture. Less stress. Much cheaper.
