I am a patient, not a doctor. While I prefer traditional manual adjustments, I find that when a practitioner uses this tool on a muscle knot, it can help untie the knot. I asked my chiropractor if I could use this tool at home without injuring myself if I can't make an appointment, and my chiropractor looked with me on Amazon and selected this particular tool for this purpose. She also checked it immediately upon arrival - I took it to her office. Delivery: on 6.11. ordered, arrived on 11/26 in very good condition. I don't recall seeing before ordering that it would take that long but I didn't mind and as soon as I placed the order the delivery time window popped up and delivery was within the estimated time frame. The shipping packaging (carton) was adequately protected and not overly protective either (sometimes you will receive packages from Revain that are three times the size of your product and they bounce in the shipping box. This is not the case with this box). The tool comes in a small metal case that is nicely constructed, opens, closes and clicks well and hangs the tool in a specially fitted inner foam to protect it. For eco-conscious reasons I would buy it without a case if it were possible, but then again this is the model my DC chose for me. The device works as expected. There are other similar devices that allow you to change the force with which the tool hits the body, but this device only has one force. My DC's instrument has 4 settings and she found mine to be the lowest power setting on hers. She was happy with the device and showed me how to use it. It comes with no instructions or printed material, but that's no surprise to me since most people who order one of these are professionals who already know what they're doing. I've decided to deduct a star because a) I have no idea how it will hold up over time - I've only used it once but it seems like a straightforward punishment so I'll just have to re-rate the review rate if it breaks and b) I wish there was a 'greener' option to order without the case but I received it exactly as pictured so I can't penalize it.
