Pretty good not great

I'm only deducting one star because overall it's a good product for the price but it has a few issues, one of which is really too annoying for me to use . Case. Everything works as it should, except that the base goes into standby after less than 3 minutes of silence and the headphones don't have an auto-mute feature. So if you're watching a DVD and fall asleep, you're going to be woken up horribly by some noise. loud white noise. Auto-mute on loss of signal avoids that noise even when out of range. While they sound good for movies and video games, they are far from ideal for listening to jazz and classical music as their frequency range is not wide enough as it is limited. up to 40Hz-12KHz. Another issue is some hiss, which is always present, is more pronounced on the right channel and can be reduced by turning up the volume on the source and turning down the volume on the headphones, but even then it's loud enough to be noticeable be and somewhat distracting quieter scenes. The headband is strong enough that they won't fall off no matter how far you lean in, but that also means they can become uncomfortable or painful after you've been pinching your ears for an hour or more. It may be possible to stretch the headband until it comes loose, I haven't tried it as I don't want to risk breaking it. On the plus side, they have a very wide reception window, so you can turn your head in any direction without losing signal. You can also increase the range by pointing the base at the mirror, which sends the signal around the corner. With all its limitations, the best thing about infrared transmission is that it's harmless. A pair of rechargeable batteries are included and unlike proprietary battery packs these can be easily replaced after a few years as they are standard AAA cells. While I wouldn't buy them again, at $35 they're still a decent compromise between price, sound quality, and wireless freedom without the bang. with a radio transmitter.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Expensive

Very nice, but bulky for lying in bed.
