Review on Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS πŸ“· II SLR Lens - White Box Edition by Aashit Seth ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best I ever used, recommend it to everybody.

I don't understand why so many people hate him. But this whale, despite the price, is very, very good! Sharpness at the level, focal most convenient for reporting. You can shoot landscapes and portraits (despite the fact that it is dark). The joke is that it leads better at 18-20 mm than many very expensive widths on these focal lengths. There are distortions, but they are correct and do not disfigure people. Having fixes, I can say that on similar apertures, the differences are only in the behavior in the backlight, plus the fixes give a more contrasting and colorful picture. But even here everything is not bad, if you wish, you can wind it up in the editor. I have never dealt with looking at pixels, the sharpness is sufficient and this is enough for me. Once hard fell and rolled on the pavement. Alive healthy! Only kotska on the sidewall. I liked it so much that having bought a ff from another company and leaving the canon as a second camera, I kept it for myself + a telephoto 55-250. It is good for its tasks, in fact, you only need to buy an additional one. optional tools - indoor flash + portrait / wide / telephoto

Pros
  • Very convenient focal lengths, excellent reportage lens; Mega cheap; Pretty sharp; Unkillable despite plastic (see below)
Cons
  • The front lens rotates, you can’t hang the hood; Autofocus is less fast than older brothers
