You have an old Mitsubishi rear projection TV (ok, old) with no HDMI input. This device allowed me to connect my new Xfinity X1 cable box to my TV and it's been working great since I've had it. I've seen reviews where they failed after a while, but haven't had any issues so far. If I have a problem I will come back and update my review. This is a 1080I digital to 1080I analog conversion and the image results look perfect to me. I didn't know when I bought this product but my TV only supports up to 1080i. This device can scale the output resolution up or down, but simply skips the resolution. It's perfectly fine if the device you need to connect to your TV has an adjustable output resolution, such as B. PS3 or PS4. This device worked great with my PS3 and PS4 hence it got 5 stars.
