This is a beautiful doorstop and would be great if the fittings weren't so cheap. The mounting screw has a square section that fits into a square hole in the base that screws into the floor. Unfortunately the tolerances are bad. So when I started screwing the stopper onto the screw, the screw twisted at the base and knocked out a square hole. Now the screw on the base is spinning and I can't tighten (or loosen!) the stop. I'll have to use a hacksaw to cut off the screw and then maybe try a second fastening method using a jackbolt. How much more would it cost to make a more dense base and screw? 10 cents?
