Media failed to load. My daughter and I model with clay. She uses softer polymer clay and I use air dry clay (harder clay). They've proven great for resin projects because you don't have to press as hard to get different effects. She mainly uses them to add eye holes or fur/cloth textures to her little characters. I used them on a project with a harder air dried clay and noticed some imperfections. First some of the stain used on the wooden handles came off when they got wet (see photo) which bled into my project. I was able to clean it, but I had to stop and give the handles a good clean to keep it from happening again. Also, one of the blades popped out after the first use. It didn't matter much because I just glued it back on. I was able to get the effects I wanted with these tools and will use them again, but I'm not a professional sculptor so I'm not sure how they will hold up. in a studio environment with reuse. I recommend them for beginners or for use with softer clays.
