I finally got the chance to try them out on a sunny day. First, they're slightly larger than my lenses so they're not too noticeable, and the hinge and clip arrangement doesn't dominate my face. I have transition lenses so I wasn't sure how well they would work. I have a little trouble reading the GPS but they fold up and down easily so no problem. I had a pair of polycarbonate lenses before and their optical quality wasn't very good. I didn't care until I got glasses with better optical properties and the old clip-ons were no longer acceptable. The optical quality of these clip-ons is in no way inferior to my new glasses. Everything is about as sharp with them as it is without them. I have transitional lenses on my glasses and these shades don't seem to do anything special until I flip them over and they really come alive. When they are down I see clearly and the light is not overwhelming. You don't want to wear them at night! but during the day they are great. The shade is brown, has a neutral effect, so the colors do not change when applied.
