I needed an inexpensive magnet stick for a magnet activity I was doing with my 2 year old. It works very well and picks up any magnetic items I put in my study basket (bells, paperclips, etc.) with ease. My only complaint is that the pen is really light and uncomfortable to hold (because the end of the magnet is very heavy). It's not the most ergonomic thing in the world. By the way, my teenager and I (accidentally) invented a Christmas game where one person holds a magnetic stick and another person hurls bells in the air. The magnetic wand holder should try to catch as many bells as possible using only the wand. It's actually pretty fun to play, so be sure to pick up a pack of Jingle Bells from the dollar store to accompany your magnetic stick.
