We've had a 6' x 8' rug on our living room floor for a few years. When children were playing, it would slide and the corners would buckle, resulting in a moderate trip hazard. After some research I decided to try this. The corners are now flat and the carpet no longer moves. I can't comment on how easy it is to remove the tape after a long time, but I fixed the position and the tape came off the floor (laminate) and carpet when I tugged.
