This worked great to solve a problem I was having with my new iPad. I use my iPad leaning back in my chair and holding it at eye level. The smooth metal edges and lack of a bezel around the screen mean it's going to slip through my hands. Therefore, it has to be supported from below or from the iPad, making it difficult to type or follow links on the screen. the friction for my hands, which allows me to hold the iPad higher on the edges. The lid also feels comfortable, protects the back and sides, and provides easy access to the side buttons. The price is worth it.
