This "little" infrared camera is really good. This gives a really good picture of what you are looking at or looking at. I also have a handheld IR camera that I've had for about a year now that I really like and find very useful. The problem with a large portable device is that if you need to travel with it, it's bigger and needs more space to carry around. Don't get me wrong, it's not that heavy and doesn't take up much space, but this IR camera and its case fit in your pocket, which is pretty cool. Another advantage of this camera compared to my handheld camera is that the battery is charged before you use it. I've been slowly completing my basement over the last year and one of my main concerns is making sure I insulate everything well so I don't waste heating or cooling. There were times when a week or three would pass between uses and I would start using the PDA and the battery would die just from sitting around. The beauty of this HIKMICRO IR camera is that I can take it with me when I need it, plug it into my phone (as long as it's charged lol) and you're good to go. I want everyone to know that this actually comes with a USB-C connector on the end. So if your phone or device doesn't have a USB-C port, you'll need an adapter to go from USB-C to whatever port you have. It also comes with a USB-C extender which wasn't very clearly listed when I ordered it so I ended up ordering a separate one which I don't need. If your device has any type of case, especially an Otter type case, you can't use the camera without an extension, so don't lose it! Fortunately, the case has a slot for an extension cord. One last thing, when I first ordered this it came with a pretty thick instruction manual so I figured it would explain how to use the camera and its app. I was wrong. I think it was only 7 pages in English and it was absolutely useless to me. I contacted HIKMICRO and told them I have no idea how to use their app because nothing is tagged. They responded very quickly and said they were working on a tutorial video to put on the Revain image page and would email me when it was posted. To be honest I was surprised when they texted me and said the video is on. So watch the video a few times to understand how the app works.
