This is an incredibly amazing product. Where has it been all my life? I have short, coarse, curly, fluffy, curly hair. (Think, when a Brillo pad and a poodle had a baby—that's my hair.) It usually takes me over an hour to blow dry my hair, then iron it, then curl it with a flat iron. plus a ton of hair product. So I usually leave them curly. With this hot brush, I let my hair air dry and then literally takes 5 MINUTES OR LESS to style it. I only use a brush and don't need ironing. My hair is becoming soft, shiny, mostly straight with lots of body/a little curly. It's amazing. Since I don't use a flat iron, I can't comment on this part. I have used it on my 7 year old granddaughter who has the same texture as mine but shoulder length hair and it has worked well. It's nice that the brush bristles are cool. You can still get burned if you put your fingers between the bristles, so don't try! She's afraid of flat irons, but she got by with this brush. It's almost as easy as combing your hair. ADDITIONAL: I've been using it for about a month now and the handle is peeling off. The brush still works. I contact the manufacturer.
