Review on πŸ”§ VXDIAG VCX Nano - Comprehensive GDS2 and TIS2WEB Diagnostic/Programming Solution for GM/Opel Vehicles by Jose Cox

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works as advertised as "Tech2 "

Buyers beware! This is the same product sold a little cheaper! Contains nothing related to TISWEB! Well, I actually got the WiFi version, should have gotten it and still saved $10.00. So buyers beware! (These folks have a website besides Revain which has a ton of information as well as some new versions of VX Manger that you may need. However, it may update itself.) In fact, this module works the same as the "GM Tech2" device ! From a good tablet, laptop or drag your desktop to where you work. Gives you a complete OEM solution for the famous and rather expensive Tech2 right at your fingertips. I installed the software (several times). I still get an error regarding MDI. But Tech2Win works as it should. Be careful though, all "antivirus" programs WILL consider this a serious threat (my case is Norton, programs crashed quite a bit because they were "hacked"). My problem really came into play long after I used it. Glad to know Norton actually works, but I have to reinstall some programs to get it working again. I'm still trying to work around this with some tweaking in Norton, hopefully I can rule 'OK' in Norton.) Well, in my case, the Yukon XL '03 was having issues with the HVAC system. I didn't want to start replacing parts right away (a waste of $$$ and time. Also, I haven't found the problem at hand yet). I've used this with my laptop (although I'm not looking for a small 2-in-1 touchscreen that can only be used for that). After the laptop starts up, plug in this tool, bam. Tech2Win runs ahead of me. This is slightly different than using the Actual GM Tech2 (which means that instead of holding it in my hands and touching the buttons, I use the mouse while looking at a much larger screen). I have now run through the program and have been able to "test" every module in the front AC. It was a door module. What I already bought In a very short time I got it working properly! Even though I paid a little more than I should have paid (yes, not too happy about that) I still saved money as the dealer quoted me as saying just to diagnose the problem and NOT do the actual work! Love the fact that it actually runs an updated/hacked version of Tech2win! The tool you'll need in almost every GM car/truck built after 1998! Also, you will get all OEM Codes that cannot be found in any OBDll scan tool! I didn't have to update any modules (PCM, BCM, ECU etc) but I'm very glad I can do it. Without the enormous costs of dealer prices !P/S- just to check. I even used this on a 2013 GMC and yes the GDS works perfectly too! I'm still doing the right thing! I am very happy to know that there are still no problems using this on My GM vehicles.

Pros
  • All current and most legacy automotive protocols: CAN, UART, KW2000, Class2, GM LAN etc.
Cons
  • Very expensive
