I didn't buy the device to take selfies, but because part of my job is going into an underground room to take photos of various sensors. I quickly realized that if I had had a selfie stick I could have avoided crawling into water, dirt, mud, debris and god knows what critters to take those pictures. So run to Amazon to order the cheapest I could find! I had high hopes for this experiment - it was cheap and it saved me from crawling up and down stairs into a smelly old hole in the ground. And it worked! Connection problems are UNREAL. I don't know if the included batteries are terrible or what, but the controller *usually* doesn't stay on long enough to pair with my phone (which requires unplugging or turning off my bluetooth headphones, which is the case). Selfie controller does NOT work well with other Bluetooth devices), open the camera app, zoom in on the camera, then position the camera and take pictures, a process that takes about 7 seconds. In the end I made it. after several attempts. I get paid no matter how long it takes, but still get that shitty feeling when something you want to work on is NOT WORKING. My next guess is to buy aftermarket batteries and see if that works. The stick clip seems to hold my phone (Galaxy S9) securely when I remove the extended battery case, which is another annoyance (although I can attach the phone with the battery case to the selfie stick with a couple of rubber bands and it's working so far ). The telescopic arm seems solid enough for what it is and what it is intended to be used for, although it is by no means designed for heavy use. (In fact, it can make a pretty good self-defense weapon in a pinch.) I haven't used the tripod feature, and almost certainly never will.
