Review on Hario NEXT Syphon Coffee Silicone by Angela Lott

I bought it to replace my TCA-5 which I recently broke. This coffee machine has a very nice design, a very durable coffee machine, it comes with both metal and fabric filters. I personally recommend sticking with a cloth filter as it's the only one that filters out very finely ground coffee particles. Also, when using a metal filter, I found that if the fire wasn't strong enough, some coffee would sink into the bottom glass as it heated. A recommendation that will change your experience: Spend the extra money buying a gas torch (like a butane torch). This drastically reduces the time it takes to brew coffee and there will never be soot left on the glass. Light it to make the water rise quickly to the top, then reduce the intensity of the fire to keep the bubbles in the top glass going while the coffee brews. Another (logical) recommendation after reading some comments: you need to put boiling water on the bottom. Part and then heat, otherwise it will take too long.
