I recently switched from the Bigger Leaner Stronger program to Rippetoe's Starting Strength. I had hit what seemed to be insurmountable plateaux and after my switch all was well for a while, but then the gains started to slow down. In followed Rip's advice and got these fractional plates. They came in a nice little box and are well made. The weights are pretty accurate and the coating seems to be some kind of enamel or epoxy. While it seems to be a high quality coating, it isn't a thick rubber coating and it seems like it would come off if you banged them around lot. But hey, they're weights so does it really matter? A little advice: get these BEFORE you hit your plateau and you won't be stuck for long. They're a great product and I would definitely go with Friendly Swede over the others.
