Works great with CPVC and PVC pipe... I recommend this tool
Based on several reviews some people have had issues with this tool. It took me several times to figure it out. And the answer is right there in the manufacturer's specs... The end with the size indicated on the dismantling tool should be around the pipe, and the other end around the neck of the fitting. Everything is easy. I had a case where two Sharkbites were pushed against each other. With this tool I was able to effortlessly slip a plug between two plugs and pull out the plug I wanted. Sweet.
