A few secrets of their storage.

My dog stepped on a bee last week and went into anaphylactic shock. She was in the ER for 27 hours so now she needs something to protect her legs as we live in Texas and the bees are almost always around. I don't want to tighten the velcro so tight that my legs swell. Here are some things I found to keep them going. Sew the velcro to the booties.2. animal movie! Also called self-adhesive cohesive bandage or coban. They use this to hold the cotton in place after they draw blood from your elbow. That was really the key to keeping the booties. I just wrap it around her legs where the velcro attaches, slip on booties and they stay put! No need to tighten it, just wrap it a few times around where you are going to attach the velcro and it will work. My dog is small so I just cut a 2 inch roll of film in half so I have two 1 inch rolls. It may seem like your dog has to work hard to wear booties, but when you're in a situation like mine. where your dog's feet need to be protected, it's worth the time. I leave the vet bandage between walks and take it off when we finish our daytime walk. The key is not to make it too tight on the legs and use multiple layers so there is some volume. There is some wear and tear where the toe meets the rubber piece as their feet pinch as the booties slide down. (before using the wrap) but I stretched out the areas and put small pieces of tape over the spots (inside and out so it wouldn't stick to it or anything). Use small pieces because if you use large pieces, the sock will not stretch. At first she didn't like wearing booties but now she's used to it.
