After being pulled over my head by my 2 year old daughter. (HOORAY! wait), we got this thing delivered the next day. She is petite, 24 months old and this piece fits her perfectly. Since that day a few months ago she wears this thing when we play in the pool and it doesn't bother her at all. Remember that 90% of your game takes place in the 8 inch water depth on the pool sunbed and doesn't actually "swim". She can go down the first step, which is deep in her stomach, and still walk. She even walks around the yard and playground with this thing on while we're in the pool. Understand that this vest's style is intended to save lives, not just as a means of swimming or "buoyancy". If she goes all the way in and neither of us is supporting her, this thing will suitably turn her onto her back, face up. It really pisses her off and she doesn't like it, but at her age it's normal. My older children have progressed through the life jacket phase. It's a step further, more safety/lifesaving. Love it.
