For some reason I was expecting more of "shiny"/nylon/spandex (a typical swimsuit material) but this very soft, stretchy one Cotton material with a nice weight that's not too hot for a spring/summer dance but doesn't show through at all, heavy enough to look like it'll hold up well in the wash and I'm not worried about it becoming addicting .
