Cotton Material - Shirts

After ordering the same t-shirt for 2 years, the quality was excellent, the material was soft and the size was right even after washing. As expected. I ordered the product again but this time instead of soft cotton material it was very rough even after 3 washes in soft water and fabric softener. I still feel like I'm wearing cardboard.
