Review on Hankook Tire Winter i*Pike RS2 W429 205/50 R17 93T by Janis Cerins ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am delighted, the product is really worthy.

A Muscovite 2140 received some fresh rubber from me. The reviews helped me make my decision. At first, I ran in with caution, avoiding sudden stops and traveling no faster than 70–80 kilometers per hour. When stopping on asphalt requires more time than when stopping on Velcro or in the summer (because asphalt is covered in spikes). I found the road grip on rolling snow to be quite impressive, as it does not slow down any more than it does on asphalt. I frequently went climbing in the deep snow, like the one shown in the photo, because I like the cross-country abilities. Departure for one season, total mileage of 15,000, and throughout the winter, the vehicle frequently drove sideways into turns, both on asphalt and on snow; yet, not a single spike flew out, and the passengers sat immovably in their assigned positions. In terms of noise, I won't say anything particularly noteworthy because it's not the ideal car to judge the noise of rubber)), but in compared to Nordman 4, it is far more comfortable and quieter. The only thing I can say is that when there is snow on the track, you can't hear the spikes at all; even on a Muscovite, it gets extremely silent. That's the only thing I can say. In spring, it goes quite well on loose snow and dirt. The completion of the set cost 11k. Valuable for the cost. The condition of the rubber at the conclusion of the season is depicted in the photo (my apologies for the self-tapping screw).

Pros
  • Nice soft rubber. It performs impeccably on new and fluffy snow, and it has no trouble rowing on ice. There is no release of the spikes. Excellent traction on the packed snow.
Cons
  • The fact that it slides on snow porridge may be attributable to the fact that it is thin (175/70/13), but this is more of a minor criticism and is not a deal breaker.

Has some pros: Confidence and stability on all surfaces. Has cons: Course stability on the track.
