Do not buy this product. I bought this because I had another PetSafe dog door but it was smaller and now I have a larger dog. I thought this article would be the same as before. Not so. The other was initially made of metal. Except for the nuts, the entire product is made of plastic. Second, the template used to cut the door is the wrong size. This pattern created an oversized hole that can only be fixed with screws on one side - the screws hold absolutely nothing on the other side. Also, the screws are nylon, so half the time they'll bend if you're trying to screw them in instead of going where you want them to be. The inner core cover, which is designed to protect the core of the door, doesn't fit at all, doesn't snap and is essentially completely useless and we didn't even fit it because it wouldn't stay where it was. allegedly goes. Finally, our other dog door had a fairly thick plastic door that snapped and latched so it couldn't just slide up. It's got a thin plastic thing that looks like a Tupperware lid, and it's only attached in two small sections to the long sides of the door, with no locking mechanism. It won't even stop my dogs from opening the dog door, nor will it stop anyone from putting just a little pressure on the outside and just letting them pop out. Absolutely useless. So now we have a door with a hole that's too big for a dog door, a dog door frame that doesn't fit properly or securely, and isn't weatherproof at all, and a lid that falls off when you sneeze. I strongly do not recommend this product and will never buy another PetSafe door in the future. I made the mistake of assuming the product I bought was the same but in a smaller size. Not so. By the looks of it, this is a dollar store version and not even worth the price of the cheap crappy parts that make it up.
