Other reviews pointed out a weak construction - these reviews were generous. I checked the lightbulbs to make sure they worked and that was the last time they came on. I've changed the fuses in the plug and the various bulbs (connected in series, so if one bulb burns out, none light up) and have never been able to get it to work. As I was working with the bulbs, I noticed that the star's weak solder joints were loose. I was in dire need of a tree topper so I re-soldered the connections and replaced the broken garland with a string of LEDs that I took off as an extra Christmas garland. After post-processing the products look ok (the photo only shows the front - the back is solid so not suitable for use in the middle of the room) but that's what I expected when it came out of the box.
