ATO not only for seawater lovers, it is also needed for freshwater aquariums! I buy this ATO to prepare for vacations and business trips. I hate refilling my high-tech tanks every few days. and if i'm away for a week or two, i always have to ask someone to check the water level. With this ato combined with a 5 gallon bucket (of course a sump is ideal but not common for freshwater people) I won't have to worry for weeks. The machine itself is quite easy to use. The pump will prime when the water level falls below the middle level indicator. The pause button stops every time you press it. Tap again to continue. During my test period, the water level is kept constant at an average level for a week. I also use it to fill a new tank, no more need to fill cup by cup, just point the tube to the wall of your tank, the smooth water flow will not affect your substrate. One thing I want to test is the water level sensor on a thick background. It currently works well in clear glass, but it will be interesting to see how it performs when more plants cover the surrounding glass. I'll let you know when my plants grow.
