I recently selected three new shaving creams/gels to compare with The Art of Shaving. The art of shaving is the undisputed champion. Gillette Foamy Regular is the benchmark for acceptable. Here's the breakdown: First, it's a tool. I have tried 4 Blade Schick, Mach3 and Fusion. I keep going back to my trusted Gillette Sensor3 Conditioning[green] disposable wipes. After shaving, I use Art of Shaving [lemon or sandalwood] aftershave lotion. It's around $30 a bottle, which may sound expensive, but I've been using the same two bottles for over two years. All you need is two pumps. 1) The Art of Shaving is by far the best. It also costs the most. For the money spent it does not disappoint. Easy to combine with a light coat. It shaves very well and leaves your face soft and nourished from all the conditioners/essential oils it contains. Normally I would scoff at paying $25 for a six-month tube of shaving cream [I shave about three times a week]. But this stuff is really damn good. It exceeds all expectations and more. 2) Alba Very Emollient Shave Cream Coconut Lime is the second best product after Art of Shaving. Great shave. Very good skin care. The aroma is really pleasant. Finish with Art of Shaving Lemon Aftershave. And that at a price of 1/4 of Art of Shaving. This one is definitely worth a look. BIG WARNING: The only downside to this product is that: A) it clogs the razor more than most B) it's also a little sticky which may irritate some, and C) it's difficult to unclog as a result. 2.5) Nivea For Men ensures a comfortable shave. feeling of suppleness afterwards. It lathers well, which is good if you like it. I'm now a fan of low or no foam. It doesn't condition your face like the top two products, but it does a decent job. 4) Kiss My Face Moisture Shave Bamboo Green Tea - This shaving cream doesn't get much better than Gillette Foamy. Certainly not enough to justify the price difference. If you're looking for a fantastic shave, you need to look elsewhere. Conclusion: If you want Ferrari performance, you have to pay a lot of money.
