Works as advertised. I use it with an MXL 7000 condenser mic. The mic is in a tablet mic form factor (like the old RCA DX-77) with a yolk mount. So using an XLR cable forced me to tilt the mic in the mount by about 30 degrees or so. Although this adapter doesn't fit completely inside the yolk, I was able to significantly reduce the angle of the microphone by about 50 percent or more. If I were to use the mic vertically on a mic stand, this probably wouldn't be a problem anyway; However, I hang my microphone upside down on a Rode PSA1 boom. I am not disappointed with this adapter. It works. The screws are a softer metal, so be careful when tightening the screws. The screws are only needed to prevent the sockets from slipping out of the housing. You don't have to be Hercules with these little screws. It doesn't take much to take them off.
