I use it it has a project box for My DCC trains. I didn't answer if it's waterproof. in a groove. The gasket material went deep into the groove and it feels like plastic on plastic when you put the top back on the box. I don't think you will get much moisture resistance. Structurally the box is very sturdy and I am happy with it for my use.
