Review on πŸ” Optimized for SEO: Supermicro X10SRA-F-O ATX Server Motherboard - LGA2011/Intel C612 by Eric Fuego

Great motherboard but watch out for CPU compatibility

Great motherboard but the description should say LGA2011-V3 connector. This only works with 4th generation V3 processors. It doesn't work with i7-4930K. Good thing I had another project that required one of these. It is compatible with i7 5820K. Also note that it has a USB 3.0 connector, which isn't compatible with USB 2.0 cable sets, so you'll need to buy one of those if you want USB on the front. All in all, if you need reliable I/O, this board is for you. POST is the actual test, so it takes a little time to run with DDR-4 ECC RAM. After POST completes, it will load in about 7 seconds. The total time is about 30 seconds from the moment the power button is pressed. The 256G RAM limit is insane! I only installed 32G there and that suits the requirements of the job I am asking for. I'm not a graphics intensive person so can't comment on that, but it does have two 16x slots. I have two GTX 780tis in another Supermicro and the graphics are great so I think it will be just as good. This is a 5 star motherboard, but I'm only giving 4 stars because of the misleading description of the socket. To be fair, Supermicro doesn't have that information in their specs either, so Revain really isn't to blame here.
