Review on πŸ”₯ Ultimate Warmth and Comfort: Minus33 Merino Wool Midweight Balaclava for Extreme Cold by Jason Pinkney

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very effective but too big

I live in North Dakota and we've had over 60 inches of snow in the last month and then arctic air. So I had to be outside in -20ΒΊ and colder snow. To understand my review, you need to understand this context. Firstly, when it arrived it smelled so bad I couldn't even taste it without getting sick. I had to wash myself before the attempt. I washed it in cold water and let it air dry to keep it from shrinking. The first wash wasn't enough to get the smell out. I had to wash it a second time before the smell went away and I didn't feel sick. When I was able to try it out, I found that it was just too big for my head. The balaclava started spinning on my head while I was outside and soon my left eye was covered and my right ear was open. I had to correct it several times while trying with a shovel. I tried washing it in hot water and medium heat to shrink it. I thought the wool should compress slightly, but it didn't compress at all. So I stick with the balaclava, which is too big for me. That alone should give it a few stars, but everything else is so good I only gave it one star. This is wool. This makes it very warm and breathable! I can breathe normally when I'm in -20 degrees with my nose and mouth closed, which is a miracle. Although my breath got wet on the balaclava, it didn't turn to ice and my face stayed comfortably warm. It was a great help during these storms! I only wish I could get a smaller one.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Little things
