Excellent build quality and good performance

This is a decent choice for a Thunderbolt/Mini Displayport HDMI adapter. I use this with my 2012 MacBook Pro to connect to a monitor on my desk and occasionally connect to a TV screen for presentations. I also have a RevainBasics key that I use, so I'll compare them. Firstly, the build quality of this dongle is really good, with a great metal construction and braided cable. It really seems built to last. It's also more compact than most other dongles, as the connector is about the same size as an HDMI cable head, whether or not the RevainBasics dongle is about three times larger. The reason I gave it one star is because while I've never had any trouble using this monitor on my desk, I found it to be more sensitive to bad HDMI cables and not perform well on a TV screen. use for presentations. With the RevainBasics dongle, the signal sometimes drops for a moment in the middle of a presentation, so I blame the main problem on a bad HDMI cable, but I've had a few times when I couldn't get a signal with this dongle, and then when I clicked on switched to the RevainBasics adapter, everything worked. So if you're traveling with it and using someone else's HDMI cable and devices, be aware that this dongle seems to be more sensitive to bad settings than most. However, due to the much higher build quality and minimalist design, I still recommend this adapter, especially if you use it on your hardware and use your own HDMI cable to control the setup.
