I have to give credit to the ambitious company that designed, engineered and manufactured this thing. We're really trying to make a jack of all trades, but unfortunately they ended up with a jack of all trades. Let's be honest, there are many different charging voltages, currents and peaks for laptops. It's really funny how little they have in common. The exception is USB. Well, I tried this DC charger without a tip (only for USB port power supply) on a Dell laptop and an Acer laptop. None of them worked at all. No energy. Nothing. I acknowledge that my usage is slightly different. I plugged it into a 12 volt portable power bank, not a car cigarette lighter. However, this should not have affected the function. My power supply is rated for over 200W and is a pure sine wave. When I tested it with another simple 12 volt to USB converter it worked fine. But with the DC laptop charger I only got an error message. Too bad because I really could have used more efficient DC charging instead of using my power bank's DC-AC inverter.
