As best advertised in Fans & Cooling

I just received this product yesterday. It was delivered on time and is exactly what I expected based on the description. 140mm PWM case fan with 4-pin header, not 3-pin with 4-pin Molex. I had that too. Installation was easy, and although there were no arrows on the fan itself to indicate the direction of exhaust, there were on the box. This took the guesswork out and made installation easier. After the install I went into the BIOS just to check the fan noise at different speeds. I turned the settings up as high as possible and the noise wasn't bothersome. Anytime my process/GPU is busy, I usually use headphones or speakers. The slight whoosh that this fan made at full speed would not have been noticed anyway. Some reviewers might test this in complete silence and thus find it too loud. This fan meets my needs. For the price I paid and the size of the fan, the noise at full throttle is very acceptable. For my typical demands of surfing the web or at work, the fan usually doesn't move with my settings. Even if the fan starts up, I had to check during operation whether it was moving or not. I could only hear the fan at top speed, and that was because I was paying attention. Any other heavy GPU/CPU load that would turn on the fan would be a major distraction for me and I wouldn't even notice how little noise it makes. For air movement, this isn't a blower, so don't expect that. At base operating speeds and maximum settings, I can feel air being forced out of the fan. Some have commented that there isn't enough air, but it was enough for my needs. This is an $8 fan so the product more than lived up to expectations. The color of the blades is bright white. I worry about how it will look over time, but that goes for any plastic. At this point it looks great compared to the case it's in. Build quality is good, it doesn't feel flimsy at all. It would be nice if the cables had heat shrink tubing or mesh jackets, but for $8 I don't expect that.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Makes me nervous
