Overall, I'm quite happy. The item has perfect looks, and it feels good in your hands. The smartphone's size is practical (it's smaller than the Note 8), and the battery lasts a long time. Compared to the Note 8, the call quality is substantially louder and crisper. In 2022, I'm looking forward to eSIM support. Pros: I switched to the Note 8. I had a lot of issues with this Samsung smartphone for 1.5 years, thus I wanted the following features from the replacement: 1. Constancy. So that an arbitrary application from the market (or an outdated one), as it frequently did to me on Android, does not obstruct the device's functionality. 2. The potential for a typical cloud backup and typical device recovery from another device or from another location. With Android, this is ostensibly available, but it actually operates oddly, restoring only some of the settings (and almost all applications just download from the market without restoring the data in them). 3. Display. Unlike OLED. It was simply difficult for me to stare at the screen against a more or less light background after using Note 8 for a year and a half. The screen's navigation buttons, status bar, top app navigation bar, YouTube video area, and keyboard were all totally imprinted. Four. Flat glass. Screen edges with curves are bad. First of all, they are pointless and may even obstruct traffic due to mistaken clicks. Second, they are not adhered to with glass (you can read the reviews). This is especially important when wearing glasses since, if they are not worn, the swipe will eventually create a hole to emerge in the oleophobic coating in the keyboard area. Dirt begins to accumulate when the finger stops slipping. 5. Regularly edited app store. First off, with very few exceptions, practically all Samsung applications are absolutely terrible. The supposed iCloud-like Samsung Account is absolutely opaque and useless. Because of this, I am forced to abandon all of this and use Google applications, which I also disliked in many ways. However, Android has no real alternatives, and even if there were, they would not integrate with the system in any way, and many great apps were simply abandoned by their creators (because for them nobody pays). The collection of apps is noticeably lacking in comparison to iOS. For instance, I cannot use the lovely Bear and Notability apps that I have been using on the iPad Pro for a very long time on Android. The XR is just what I was searching for in this regard. Cons of it: I can list the following as some of the drawbacks: 1. There are no original covers other than the awful transparent one (I decided to buy a Chinese silicone case made under the original one). 2. The absence of a second camera for object portraits (the only thing missing after Note 8). 3. The lack of a 3.5mm jack adapter in the kit (there is no excuse for this). 4. Absence of the actual 3.5mm jack. It's on my 2022 MacBook Pro and 2022 iPad Pro, but it's not on my 2022 iPhone for incredibly flimsy excuses. 5. The kit's lack of fast charging (this is simply a contradiction of the public position of Apple itself, which has been assuring everyone since the 80s that it would not sacrifice user experience for the sake of additional profit). This drawback is objective, however it doesn't apply to me because I have two fast chargers owing to my MacBook Pro and iPad Pro. Also, the iPhone and iPad may be charged quickly from the MacBook's USB C connector much like a MacBook. 6. It's challenging to find regular safety glasses. Some do not adhere as they should, while others obstruct covers or the operation of sensors. It took three glasses to change in my situation. Still, the proximity sensor and auto-brightness started to malfunction.
