As someone who has been building computers for 20 years, I've learned that you always check the compatibility chart to make sure the CPU and memory you buy will work with your motherboard, because that's what you'll find on the Store page may not be correct. Now that the processor is third on the list, I'm fine, right? Not as much. What MSI didn't have in their chart is that you need to update the BIOS before this processor will work. And since this board doesn't have a flash button like some other boards, it requires an older processor. Looking into MSI's credits now, you'll get a way to fix the problem via a link to the AMD bootkit page. AMD will send you a free 10-day boot kit with your old processor so you can flash the BIOS and get the new processor working. I don't know how long it will take, but there is a solution. For those of you looking to upgrade your processor, the good news is that you don't need to change your motherboard, just update your BIOS. I wish the *bios flash character in the compatibility chart would save me some time.
