Review on πŸšͺ DS-HD1 Hikvision USA Original 3 Megapixel HD WiFi Video Smart Doorbell - Wireless Intercom Camera, Motion Detection, Night Vision, Video Recording, 180 Degree Ultra Wide Angle by Jack Harrell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Once connected it's a great camera/doorbell.

Well, this device is difficult to network because it has incorrect default password configuration information. In a HIKVision app they have 1 password format and in the manual they have another default password format. I could not connect to the camera to update the Wi-Fi data using the HIKVision app. I had to use the Guarding Visual app to get to the point where I could set up the camera's Wi-Fi. And on top of that, it had to be done manually. Once you get past that stage, things get a lot better. I bought the unbranded version of this camera before I found the branded version and it was good up to a point and this is where this version made it a worthwhile perk. Money ($20 and no memory). With this I was able to connect to my NVR and watch video as on both devices, but the ONVIF protocol has been updated and works with LTS and HIKVision NVRs to the extent that I can start the NVR when I move and I can write ID name cameras on the screen, like a normal branded camera. It doesn't come with an SD card like the unbranded version, so the overall cost could add another $10 compared to the unbranded version. I only gave it 4 stars due to WIFI configuration issues. Otherwise it would have gotten 5 stars. The camera grabs your attention by beeping when you approach the doorbell/camera, which causes strangers to look at the camera and you get a great face shot. Fast pre-notifications, no monthly fees, better control over how and for how long your call or email rings. Playback on HIKVision works well when viewing video data from an SD card. The Guarding Vision I had playback problems most of the time. The two-way audio is excellent compared to my Ring doorbell that I had. Connect to 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi unlike Ring Doorbell. Good foresight, some fisheye, but still good. It will be nice if they do video correction on it. I'm sure it's next.

Not ONVIF. Only buy if you want decent camera with 1 day of recording!
