Why buy such a product? Although there are two reasons (loading and assembly), it is safe to say that assembly is its main function, because when I just wanted to charge my phone would just plug it in. I bought this charger/mount because it has a clever design with vent clips that contract to reduce "bounce" and a really sturdy one Mounting surface offers, and it also has wireless charging. I bought a disconnect the extended cable and tuck it away for a smooth installation. The vent clip and charger work as advertised. Now for the mounting part. HOW DOES IT NOT HOLD MY PHONE To be honest , it holds my phone, but unfortunately the reality is that it FALLS at least half a dozen times on the way to work every slam ag, bridge compensator, trabpatch seems to be uare cause the phone to fall out of the bracket. If you fall out of the air vent, you bounce off the center console and land on the passenger side on the vehicle floor. Virtually useless for the rest of my ride as I won't risk my life trying to reach it while driving and fairly useless for its intended purpose as a magnetic mount. By the way, I have an iPhone 12 with a MagSafe case. This product WILL NOT WORK with the case powered on or off.
