I've had several external hard drives in the past but two of them still work fine but they were full so I bought these. TERRIBLE! I only use it to back up files and pictures every 6 months or so and it doesn't work anymore, all my files are lost there somewhere and if I want to restore them I have to pay between 300-400 dollars because it is 1 is TB. I've tried it on multiple computers and they all get the same error message. I called the manufacturer and they said the warranty was expired. If you need help, you have to pay $50 upfront and $12 a month for a year before we can fix it, and that doesn't mean we can fix it. If it is broken or damaged, you can take third-party data recovery services. I called one of them and was told it was $1 per GB and since my external drive is 1TB it would be $1000 if it was full. I haven't dropped or damaged it, most of the time it sat in a drawer when not plugged into my computer! I will never buy a WD drive again!
