I was prepared for it to be a piece of junk, but I did exactly what I wanted. 2 tips for success: - If you press and hold the button, it will immediately beep for 2 seconds - this is the calibration. Hold it over the area without rivets. When it's ready, you can now move it to discover it (hold the button). - Once you find the edge of the hairpin, you can release the button. Otherwise, it will beep when you move your other hand with the stylus next to it. You will also need your own 9V battery.
