Review on ๐Ÿฏ GoodCook 12 oz. Glass Syrup Dispenser: Clear/Red Design for Convenient Pouring by Jason Mitts

Very pretty but the sliding lid can be tricky for children

We usually buy our syrup from a local farm so it comes in a large jug. When my kids try to pour it, the syrup splatters and pancakes end up swimming in the syrup. Aside from being a hassle to clean, it's a big waste of good syrup! I tried teaching them to pour slowly but it was difficult because they couldn't see through the jug to know how close the syrup was to the hole. Eventually they got impatient and tipped the pitcher over too hard. I figured a glass dispenser would help teach them how to tilt/pour to get a good flow of syrup. Unfortunately, there aren't many options out there. This one's pretty good. I like that it's made of glass and looks well built. My only concern is that the grip feels a bit unreliable. like it could tear. Our main problem is that you have to move the top to get the syrup. I can do it with one hand (hold the pen and slide my thumb up to release the syrup). However, it is difficult for children with small hands. It takes some strength. Sometimes a skewer for an adult (no arthritis), but not for a child. Although my kids like to use it. Right now you need two hands to operate it: one to hold the handle and one to open the lid. This will help save on syrup as they can just open the lid a little and learn how to pour. I think they can handle it as they get older so I'm saving money right now since I'm not wasting a ton of syrup on a bad topping. All in all, I'm glad I bought it.
